Frequently Asked Questions

How does the veg box scheme work? We offer seasonal organic produce and local pantry staples delivered weekly or fortnightly. We use the Growing Good platform, which makes it easy for you to manage your subscription, skip weeks, or add local produce like fresh bread and honey.

Where do you get your produce? We believe in "local first, organic as much as practical."

Fruit, Veg & Eggs: Sourced from Organic North just over the tops in Manchester, the UK’s largest organic wholesaler, ensuring ethical farming practices and incredible freshness.

Dairy: Fresh milk, cream, and yogurts from Longley Farm.

Bread: Artisanal loaves from Rogers' Bakery.

Honey: Pure, local nectar from Holme Valley Honey.

Coffee: Ethically sourced beans from Danelaw.

Is everything organic? Our fruit, vegetables, and eggs are certified organic via Organic North. For our other local suppliers, we focus on high-quality, traditional methods and local provenance.

Delivery & Packaging

How do you keep my delivery fresh? We take the "cold chain" seriously. We use Puffin Packaging—a sustainable, high-performance insulated lining—to ensure your dairy and meat stay chilled from our door to yours, even if you aren't home to pop them in the fridge immediately.

What should I do with my packaging? We don’t just deliver boxes; we manage a resource and avoid packaging going to landfill.

• The Return Scheme: On your next delivery day, simply leave your empty box and wool liners on

your doorstep. We’ll collect them, sanitise them, and put them back to work.

• Compostable at Home: If you choose not to return them, our wool liners are 100% biodegradable.

They make incredible liners for hanging baskets, weed-suppressants for your garden, or can even

be dug directly into the soil to release nitrogen.

What is your delivery day and time? We deliver every Friday

Do I need to be home for delivery? Not at all. During sign-up, you can specify a "safe place" (e.g., a porch, shed, or behind a gate). Thanks to our insulated packaging, your chilled items will stay fresh until you return.

What is your delivery Charge?

£1.99, Free on Orders over £30
