Valley Roots Co-op Limited | Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Valley Roots. By registering an account and subscribing to our service, you enter into an agreement with Valley Roots Co-op Limited. Our scheme is powered by the Growing Good platform, and all payments are processed securely via Stripe.

  1. Registration & Accounts

1.1. To participate in our scheme, you must register an account via our website. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account details.

1.2. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure delivery addresses and contact details (including a valid email and mobile number) are kept current to receive delivery notifications.

  1. Orders & Subscription

2.1. The Order Cycle: Our produce is sourced and planned to order. The cut-off for all new orders, box swaps, add-ons, or cancellations is Tuesdays at 2pm.

2.2. Managing Your Box: Through your Growing Good dashboard, you can manage your order or pause your delivery for holidays.

2.3. Late Changes: Any changes made after the Tuesday cut-off will apply to the following week's delivery. Valley Roots Co-op Limited cannot guarantee cancellations or refunds for boxes already processed for the current week.

  1. Payments

3.1. Security: We use Stripe to process all transactions. Valley Roots Co-op Limited does not store your credit or debit card details on our own servers.

3.2. Billing: Payment is typically initiated following the Friday cut-off. By subscribing, you authorize Valley Roots Co-op Limited to charge your card automatically for your recurring orders and any additional items added to your basket.

3.3. Failed Payments: We reserve the right to suspend delivery if a payment fails. We will attempt to contact you to resolve the issue, but it remains the customer's responsibility to ensure valid payment methods are on file.

  1. Delivery & Packaging

4.1. Delivery Day: We deliver every Friday. While we aim for consistent timing, delivery times may vary due to route optimization, traffic, or weather.

4.11. Delivery Charge: £1.99, Free on Orders over £30

4.2. The "Safe Place": You do not need to be home for delivery. Please provide clear instructions on your account regarding a "safe place" (e.g., a porch, shed, or with a neighbour).

4.3. Liability: Once the box is delivered to your designated safe place, the risk and responsibility for the produce pass to you. We are not liable for theft or damage (e.g., by pets, wildlife, or extreme weather) after delivery has been made.

4.4. Returnable Packaging: To uphold our co-operative values of sustainability, we use a circular packaging system.

Customers must leave their empty box/packaging from the previous week in their designated safe place every Friday morning.

Our driver will collect the old packaging while dropping off your new box.

We reserve the right to charge a replacement fee if boxes are consistently not returned.

  1. Fresh Produce & Allergens

5.1. Seasonality & Availability: Our boxes reflect the best of the local season. On rare occasions, crop failures or weather may necessitate a substitution. We will always endeavour to provide a similar alternative.

5.2. Produce Weight: Due to the nature of fresh, hand-harvested produce, weights and sizes may vary. We aim for maximum value, but a slight variance in weighed items should be expected.

5.3. Allergens: Any processed items or specific produce requiring allergen labelling will be clearly marked on the packaging. Please check all labels carefully if you have allergies or sensitivities.

5.4. Quality Guarantee: If you are unhappy with the quality of an item, please contact us at [email protected] within 24 hours of delivery. Where appropriate, we will issue a credit to your account for a future shop.

  1. Cancellations & Termination

6.1. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account, provided it is before the Tuesday morning cut-off.

6.2. Valley Roots Co-op Limited reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if there is a breach of these terms or if we are no longer able to service your delivery area.
